LIVE: THE KAISERS
19:00 - 22:00
Le Beat Bespoke Presents:
+ Craig Shaw & The Excellos
Live at Oslo, Hackney
This show has been rescheduled from its original date of April 11th. All tickets remain valid.
The Kaisers are a four piece from Scotland who are hailed as the stomping-est Beat group since Rory Storm first wrecked the stage at the Kaiser-Keller. Taking their inspiration from legendary feats of entertainment such as The Big Three, Kingsize Taylor and the Dominoes and the Undertakers, their set consists of breathtaking “cult status” original songs, along with re-workings of Rhythm & Beat favourites and obscurities.
Since 1992, the group have been prolific in writing, recording and releasing 7 x LPs, 6 x EP’s, 4 x 45rpms as well as appearing on numerous compilations. Their latest offering being the 10” “Ruff ‘n’ Rare” which features previously unreleased outtakes and demos. By the end of this year, they will be returning to Toe Rag Studios to record their 8th LP.
Their writing and performance skills have won praise and admiration globally and have played sessions for BBC DJs John Peel & Mark Radcliffe, appearances on UK and USA television, music celebrities private parties, as well as recently being listed number 10 of the “TOP 20 Best Scottish Indie Rock Bands of the 1990s”
Recent headline appearances have included The Cosmic Trip Festival, The Rockin’ Race Jamboree, Funtastic Dracula Carnival, Surforama, Festival Beat and 2 shows at the 100 Club to promote not only 25 years in the business but also the vinyl release of the “Wishing Street” LP.
Over the years and up to the present day, many groups have sited The Kaisers as a major influence. They must be doing something right, as over 25 groups can be found on Youtube, covering The Kaisers’ tunes!
Worldwide airplay on the likes of BBC6 Music (UK), WFMU (New York) and Radiolux (France) continues to excite and turn on audiences both old and new.
2020 will see The Kaisers (George Miller, Johnny Maben, Mark Ferrie and Gus McIntyre) perform a few ‘select’ live shows including the legendary “Le Beat Bespoke” Week-ender in London over Easter.
